What it requires
Chapter 4 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 requires: risks from lifting operations: stability, strength, lifting accessories, control of loads, marking and specific instructions (4.3, 4.4). It is unchanged in substance compared with Directive 2006/42/EC and applies to machinery placed on the market from 20 January 2027.

SUPPLEMENTARY ESSENTIAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS TO OFFSET RISKS DUE TO LIFTING OPERATIONS. Machinery or related products presenting risks due to lifting operations shall meet all the relevant essential health and safety requirements set out in this chapter (see General Principles, point 4).
