What it requires
1.5.5 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 requires: prevent risks from extremely high or low temperatures of parts or materials. It is unchanged in substance compared with Directive 2006/42/EC and applies to machinery placed on the market from 20 January 2027.

Steps shall be taken to eliminate any risk of injury arising from contact with or proximity to machinery or related product parts or materials at high or very low temperatures. The necessary steps shall also be taken to avoid or protect against the risk of hot or very cold material being ejected.
