What it requires
1.5.3 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 requires: prevent hazards from non-electrical energy (hydraulic, pneumatic, thermal). It is unchanged in substance compared with Directive 2006/42/EC and applies to machinery placed on the market from 20 January 2027.

Where machinery or related products are powered by source of energy other than electricity, they shall be so designed, constructed and equipped as to avoid all potential risks associated with such sources of energy.
