What it requires
1.5.15 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 requires: prevent slipping, tripping and falling in areas where people move about or stand; handholds where appropriate. It is unchanged in substance compared with Directive 2006/42/EC and applies to machinery placed on the market from 20 January 2027.

Parts of the machinery or related product where persons are liable to move about or stand shall be designed and constructed in such a way as to prevent persons slipping, tripping or falling on or off these parts. Where appropriate, these parts shall be fitted with handholds that are fixed relative to the user and that enable them to maintain their stability.
