What it requires
1.4.2.3 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 requires: adjustable guards restricting access to the strictly necessary part. It is unchanged in substance compared with Directive 2006/42/EC and applies to machinery placed on the market from 20 January 2027.

Adjustable guards restricting access to those areas of the moving parts strictly necessary for the work shall be: (a) adjustable manually or automatically, depending on the type of work involved; and (b) readily adjustable without the use of tools.
